Analysis of Verbal Behavior

The Analysis of Verbal Behavior (ISSN 0889-9401) is published annually by the Association for Behavior Analysis International® and is primarily for the original publication of experimental or theoretical papers relevant to a behavioral analysis of verbal behavior. Manuscripts are typically relevant to at least one of the following topics: the elementary verbal operants, autoclitics, multiple control, private events, rule-governed behavior, epistemology, scientific verbal behavior, language acquisition, language assessment and training, second languages, pedagogy, the verbal behavior of nonhumans, verbal behavior research methodology, and the history of verbal behavior analysis.

The Analysis of Verbal Behavior was first published in 1982 by the Verbal Behavior Special Interest Group of the Association for Behavior Analysis International. ABA International® took over publication of the journal in 1995, with the continued support of the Verbal Behavior Special Interest Group through 1997. Northern California Association for Behavior Analysis supported the publication of the journal from 1989-1997. Past Editors have been Mark Sundberg (1982-1997); Kent Johnson, Co-Editor (1982); Joseph Spradlin, Co-Editor (1985); Hank Schlinger (1998-2000); Sam Leigland (2001-2003); and Jack Michael (2004-2008).
