Started in 1998, the University of North Texas Center for Sport Psychology and Performance Excellence (CSPPE) is a national leader the field of sport psychology. A multidisciplinary center devoted to sport psychology service, research, and training, they combine knowledge, skills, and expertise from Psychology and Exercise Science to provide comprehensive and individualized sport psychology services.
Mission of CSPPE is to:
- provide formal, interdisciplinary training in sport and exercise psychology for graduate students as well as coaches, trainers, physical therapists, physicians and any other interested and qualified professionals.
- conduct research in sport and exercise psychology and integrate these findings into training and service.
- provide applied sport and exercise psychology services to the university and surrounding community through outreach/consultation, formal workshops, and individual consultations.
