Certification of Disability Management Specialists Commission (CDMSC)

The CDMSC is the only nationally accredited and independent organization that certifies disability management specialists that analyze, prevent and mitigate the human and economic impact of disability for employees and employers.

The Certification of Disability Management Specialists Commission is comprised of eleven to fifteen commissioners, with diverse professional and geographic backgrounds who are actively engaged in the field of disability management. At least one commissioner is a public member, not directly affiliated with the field of practice. Commissioners are elected during the Commission's annual meeting, and serve one five-year term.

The Commission has an internal operating structure of:

  • Professional Code of Ethics and Code of Conduct
  • Examination and Research
  • Eligibility Compliance and Certification Renewal
  • Public Relations and Communications
  • Executive Leadership and Strategic Planning
  • Appeals and Grievances

The mission of the CDMSC is to: advance the field of disability management through the utilization of certified practitioners; evaluate and respond to the trends in disability management; promote continuing education while identifying key strategies, skills, and collaboration to ensure best practices in disability management.
