FEI Behavioral Health

FEI has been in operation since 1979 and is one of the largest behavioral health companies in the United States. A pioneer in behavioral health, FEI developed the first national network EAP with the Xerox Corporation in 1979, the first national managed care program for substance abuse with the General Motors Corporation in 1984, and offered one of the first true integrated EAP and Work-Life programs in 1990.

Family Enterprises, Inc. operated from its creation in 1979 until July 1, 1992 as a division of Family Service America (FSA), a national association of over 350 community-based mental health agencies located throughout the United States and Canada. To better address the needs of corporate customers, FSA reorganized and FEI Behavioral Health became a separate corporation whose purpose is to manage Employee Assistance Programs (EAP), Crisis Intervention and Work-Life Services.

Unique in their industry, FEI was created to support and further the mission of its parent company by delivering services and needed resources to family-serving agencies throughout the United States. Their mission has expanded over the years to include serving many of America’s largest and best-known companies, their employees and dependents. They continue to firmly believe that, by strengthening families, they strengthen the workplace.

Because of their considerable success in serving almost two million covered lives, FEI has developed into a leader in behavioral health. Unlike other national EAPs, they retain a small-company culture, with genuine teamwork and enthusiasm for helping others. Their unique, fully integrated and in-house Work-Life and Crisis Management departments seamlessly deliver top-quality services while better managing costs, allowing FEI to quote highly competitive rates.
