Join Together

Join Together is a project of Boston University School of Public Health. Since 1991 Join Together has been the nation's leading provider of information, strategic planning assistance, and leadership development for community-based efforts to advance effective alcohol and drug policy, prevention, and treatment. They believe problems associated with alcohol and drugs can be best addressed at the community level.

On May 1, 2009, Join Together merged with the National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse (CASA) at Columbia University as David Rosenbloom became CASA's President and CEO. In December 2009, David Rosenbloom completed his service at CASA and returned, with Join Together, to the Boston University School of Public Health.

Their mission is expressed in their name. Join Together helps community leaders understand and use the most current scientifically valid prevention and treatment approaches. Their surveys have shown that communities with written strategies that are broadly supported by key leaders and institutions are the most likely to be successful in reducing and preventing alcohol and drug problems.

Join Together's principal constituents include community leaders, public officials, teachers, prevention and treatment professionals, parents and families. They encourage individuals to become actively involved in promoting policies and programs that are supported by sound research.
