Malone is a place where students don't just 'practice' their faith - they live it. Their students lead and participate in the Celebration worship service, build homes with Habitat for Humanity, and sell artwork to aid tsunami victims. Each fall hundreds of Malone students go "Into the Streets" to serve the community in child care facilities, the Humane Society, parks and recreation, and nursing homes.
Dedication to scholarly integrity and commitment to a Christian world view are the twin foundations upon which the Department of Psychology is built. The Department of Psychology aims to instruct students in the methodologies and findings of the diverse areas covered by the field of psychology. It also encourages students to integrate faith and learning throughout their education.
The department offers a major, a minor, and a liberal arts concentration in psychology. Students who are fascinated by human thought, emotion, and behavior are encouraged to take some of their courses and to sit down with us to discuss how the study of psychology may fit into their educational and vocational plans.
Their mission is to promote the development of students who can understand, critique, and apply theories, research findings, and methodologies across a broad range of areas within psychology. Furthermore, we provide a supportive context for such development that encourages students to contemplate connections among Christian faith, learning, and living.
