Michigan Psychoanalytic Institute and Society

Since 1957, the Michigan Psychoanalytic Institute and Society has been the principal psychoanalytic center in Southeastern Michigan. They are the only training center in Michigan affiliated with both the American Psychoanalytic Association (APsaA) and the International Psychoanalytic Association (IPA). The Institute (MPI) provides outstanding education and training in child/adolescent and adult psychotherapy and psychoanalysis. Their Society (MPS) and allied organizations, Association of Psychoanalytic Thought (APT) and Students’ and Trainees’ Association (SATA) support the Institute and further its mission by promoting education, scientific programs and outreach to universities and medical centers. Through their partnership with the Michigan Psychoanalytic Foundation (MPF), they have made available outstanding post-graduate training, provided a range of community services and offered high-quality, low-fee psychotherapy in Farmington Hills and Ann Arbor.
