Jane Rachel Kaplan, Ph.D., M.P.H. is a psychologist and has been working in the area of food and eating for over 30 years. She has worked with those with severe eating disorders like bulimia and anorexia and has also helped those with overeating and weight management issues.

Having a healthy relationship with food and body is what Optimal Eating is all about. Food and eating can be a pleasure and body image can be strong and healthy. To help people reach these goals, Dr. Kaplan conducts many kinds of therapy and education, including individual therapy, group therapy, family therapy, consultation and educational workshops.

She also teaches therapists, physicians, nutritionists and other health care professionals and educators about eating disorders. She consults to organizations on training and prevention projects in the area of eating issues.
