The Department of Psychology at Tel Aviv University was founded in 1961 by Professor Hans Kreitler. The department has grown rapidly from only three faculty members in 1961 to almost 40 faculty members in 2000. Today, 600 undergraduates, 320 MA students and 60 Ph.D. students study in the department. Over the years the Department has stressed excellence in research, teaching, and clinical instruction. It has achieved international recognition for basic and applied research in the farthest frontiers of Psychology. With the aim of continuing and expanding its contribution to the discipline, the Department is recruiting young faculty members from all over the world, training its most outstanding students, and creating an advanced and nurturing research environment.
