Trauma Institute/Child Trauma Institute

Dr. Ricky Greenwald founded Child Trauma Institute (CTI) in 2002 in order to more effectively disseminate high quality training programs in trauma treatment. CTI became a Massachusetts not-for-profit corporation in 2005, and was granted federal non-profit (501c3) status as a charitable organization in 2006. The Trauma Institute (TI) name was added in 2008 to better convey the full scope of our activities, which apply to adults as well as children and teens.

TI/CTI provides training, consultation, information, and resources for those who work with trauma-exposed children, adolescents, and adults. TI/CTI also conducts research on trauma assessment and treatment, and on its own training programs.

TI/CTI has conducted/collaborated on research in the following countries: Australia, Bosnia, Canada, Germany, Guatemala, Greece, Iran, Israel, Netherlands, N. Ireland, Scotland, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Trinidad & Tobago, Turkey, and USA.
