Is stress making you sick?

IF STRESS IS AFFECTING YOUR HEALTH, HERE ARE WAYS TO BECOME MORE RELAXED.

The Physical Stress Scale assesses the extent to which you may be experiencing the negative physical consequences of intense or prolonged stress.

Research has shown that individuals scoring medium to high on one or more of the eight scales for stress warning signs tend to score high on the Physical Stress Scale. This scale can help you avoid the negative side effects of stress by letting you know when you are reaching a crisis point.

If you scored medium to high on this scale and you are experiencing physical problems, such as aches and pains, stress may be a prime contributor. Give special attention to any stress warning signs that you recognize in yourself.

If you scored medium to low on this scale, you may still be at risk of developing physical stress problems, especially if you start to adopt behaviors that are known to create stress problems.

Regardless of your scores of this scale, always check with your physician or mental health professional if you are concerned about any physical or emotional problem.
